Building our house page 2....

Stage 2 is finally complete with the plot now fenced and gates completed. As with all things in Kenya it took 4x longer than planned but at least it is done now. The garden is really coming on with the first produce from the veggie garden being harvested this week - brocolli, spinach, coriander, watercress and 3 strawberries! The hedges to cover up the 'not so pretty' fences are going in as well as fast growing climbers to get them hidden from view as fast as possible. The lawn is also progressing nicely due to the help of the borehole water from Granpops's plot next door - without that it would be a dustbowl as there is zero rain in Nairobi right now.

This week's job is to mark out the ground floor plan of the house so we can do a sort of 2D walk through before we finalise it. The fantastic news is that we have got planning permission now and hopefully just 3 weeks away from structural approval and then breaking ground (as ever the Kenya factor to be taken into account but we are still hoping that we might break ground at the end of Feb).

Anyway her are a few recent pics of the progress.  Mx
